VexaLoad — Privacy Policy

VexaLoad is a media downloader. The browser extension’s only job is to hand a media page or media link that you choose to the VexaLoad desktop application installed on your own computer, which then analyzes it and downloads it after you confirm. This policy explains, honestly, what the software does and does not do with your data.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information.
• We do not collect or transfer cookies. The extension requests no cookies permission.
• We do not collect passwords or login credentials.
• We do not collect or upload your browsing history to any external service.
• We do not send your data to advertisers or any third party.
• There is no analytics, tracking, or telemetry server. The extension talks only to the locally installed VexaLoad desktop app on your machine.

What the extension accesses, and why

• The current page URL / media link you act on — only when you click the VexaLoad button, use the right-click menu, or the popup. That URL is sent over a local channel to the desktop app so it can analyze the media. It is not stored by us or sent anywhere else.
• Automatic detection is off until you grant it per-site. It never runs on a site you have not explicitly enabled, and you can revoke that access at any time.
• Local settings (your preferences and the list of sites you enabled) are stored in the browser’s own extension storage on your device.

Native messaging (local only)

The extension uses Chrome/Edge native messaging to communicate with the VexaLoad desktop application over a local channel on your own computer. This is used solely to pass the media URL you chose and to exchange a safe handshake (version/status). No browsing data leaves your machine through this channel to any external server.

Downloading and content

The desktop application performs analysis and downloading of media that you request. VexaLoad does not bypass DRM and does not support downloading DRM-protected content. You are responsible for only downloading content you have the right to access.

Your controls

• Revoke site access: open the extension popup or your browser’s extension settings and turn off detection for a site, or remove the host permission. The overlay stops immediately.
• Delete local data: remove the extension to clear its stored settings. To delete desktop data, uninstall VexaLoad or clear its data folder at %LocalAppData%\VexaLoad. Your downloaded files are never touched by uninstall.
